I had 15 points deducted from an answer I was working on (was making some adjustments) and was wondering what I did wrong.  Took some looking to work out what had happened

As it turned out I had suggested that my 'Best answer' was removed while I worked out a mistake I had noticed, I did not realise that would have  consequences. I simply did not really know how the points system worked.

My suggestion is a stickied post on the Questions detailing the points system and how they are applied and deducted that can be updated with any changes  for easy access for both old timers and new comers so no easily avoided mistakes like I made can be avoided.

What do you all think?

Best answer

If you click on you right click on your profile and scroll down to Recent History on the bottom right it will tell you where you got the -15 from. The deselected and unvoted means that it's being taken back. Taken back means it's as if you never got best answer or never got a vote.

Ohh I understand your suggestion now. I think a great reminder of how points work will be great because they seem a tad hidden. As time goes on you kinda are reminded of what gives what.

I also  think the help section should specify about unvoting or choosing a different best answer and how it can effect your points (even though it is a little obvious that it will be taken back - but of course when I was new I didn't know this)  https://www.tibiaqa.com/moderation-rep-points

Basically a stickied post in the Questions section explaining  how the points system works. Explaining how points are awarded and deducted and in what amounts

Id award you an upvote for your very relevant feedback but I  dont have enough points in Tibiaqa Meta
