If I see someone who didn't paste source should I edit or flag?

I came across a post recently that didn't paste the source of what was clearly copy and pasted. I went ahead and flagged it but then realize maybe the member's not active anymore so I edited the post instead to add the source. What should you do in these situations, should you flag or edit the post if you know the source?

If you know the source, feel free to edit the post to add the source and notify the user in the comment. If you don't know the source, flag the post as "requires editing".
